An Electrical Condition Report (EICR) is an evaluation of the electrical installation (fixed wiring) of a commercial property, which is conducted by an approved electrical contractor. During the inspection the condition of the installation and systems is examined for safety and determination if they comply with national standards. Following the inspection the business owner is provided with a detailed report which will highlight if the installation complies with current standard or if there are defects and improvements need to be made. In England, the law requires businesses to comply with specific electrical safety standards to keep their property, customers and employees safe. Relevant laws include: Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 Landlords and Tenants Act 1985 A commercial EICR proves that you have complied with these standards, ensuring that the property is safe for employees and customers.
